Choice, Control & Cooperative Care |
||
Course Information:
A cocker spaniel becomes aggressive when his ears are treated. An Aussie bites anyone who comes near her feet. A doodle is sent back from the groomer with the label “too aggressive.” We’ve all seen it and any good professional knows to desensitize “at the pet’s speed.” That’s great and often works well. However, what can really speed things up and make a significant impact is adding in the option for pets to cooperate with the experience rather than simply tolerate it. In this session, we will cover this concept known as cooperative care, review tips for addressing common issues and take a more detailed look at a particular skill or two.
