Understanding behavioral functions to create functional interventions

Course Information:

Operant behavior has a function; that is, it is maintained by some einforce (function). Understanding the function of that behavior for your learner has important impacts. By understanding the function, we can create functional interventions that provide that einforce to the animal for more appropriate behaviors, and we can choose different intervention plans that will have differential outcomes based on the function. We will discuss how we can assess function and how we can use the function to create more effective interventions.
