Parrot Shaping Plans for Vet Behaviors

Course Information:

This course is classified as an “Oldie but Goodie.” For more information on Oldies but Goodies, click here.

In this presentation, Barb Heidenreich talks about specific shaping plans for preparing parrots for a vet visit. By shaping the behaviors we want we empower our companion animals to cooperate, rather than struggle and fight increasing their fears all the while! This telecourse builds on Barb’s previous presentation, Training Birds for Husbandry and Medical Behaviors to Reduce or Eliminate Stress. This previous course is not a pre-requisite for taking this course, but it is recommended. Also, shaping principles are the same, regardless of species. This course should not be limited to people working with parrots.
