How to Talk and Listen: Applying Modern Parenting Advice to Client Comprehension & Compliance

Course Information:

This course is classified as an “Oldie but Goodie.” For more information on Oldies but Goodies, click here.

We are not our students’ parents, but sometimes we have similar goals in teaching them empathy, creating mutual respect for opinions and needs (ours, theirs, and their dog’s), and getting them to actually follow our instructions. In this course, we’ll discuss how we can apply the principles of the popular parenting book, “How to Talk So Kids Will Listen & Listen So Kids Will Talk” by Adele Faber and Elaine Mazlish, to our clients. This course is taught by a dog training instructor who is also a mother, and who has found the principles in this book useful in both worlds!
