Assistance & Service Dogs: The Basics

Course Information:

This course is classified as an “Oldie but Goodie.” For more information on Oldies but Goodies, click here.

Every dog trainer should understand about assistance and services dogs: what they do, how they’re trained, the special needs of the client, the different organizations, etc. This is a very specialized and important subset of dog training and — even if we don’t want to be involved in this type of training — we should all know about it. At some point in our career we will be approached by a client needing these services and we should be able to steer them in the right direction. This can also be a very fulfilling career choice – helping people fill their needs, and working with a dog to do an important job. This class is a must for all trainers who would like to know more about this interesting area of dog training.
