Online classes we offer: Beginning Dog Trainer's Course This is an extensive course designed to give new trainers a solid academic background in the field of dog training. This course covers a brief history of domestic dogs and training, learning theory, dog behavior, fear and aggression, clicker training, classroom and client issues, and an overview of the training business. Hi Sue,
I thought I'd write and tell you how much your Beginning Dog Trainer's Course has meant to me. It has opened up a whole new world for me with a top-notch education that will allow me to open my own dog training business, get certified (after reaching the required number of hours spent actually training), feel confident that I truly understand behavior modification and think out of the box when necessary.
I've always been naturally good with dogs, but now knowing and understanding the science behind the procedures, makes all the difference in how well I expect to do with a variety of dogs and behavior problems. I can't thank you enough.
You truly are an excellent teacher with a great understanding of not only dogs, but humans too. You have not only met, but exceeded, all my expectations of this course and have prepared me well to run a business and help people with their dogs!
Sincerely, Kim Lutz Kim's Canines
Critieria Setting and Record Keeping: Train efficiently to accelerate your income! The focus of this course is on criteria setting and record keeping. This has been an excellent course. I have learned a great deal. I have attempted similar things in the past, but after the first few sessions stopped. However, with this course I had to keep going and continued learning throughout the cours's entirety. Thanks Randy
Professional Ethics for Animal Trainers Ethics are not about right vs. wrong - ethics are about right vs. right! When there is more than one right path that can be taken in a difficult situation, it makes our decision-making all that much harder. Ethics is a field of study like any other. There are guidelines, rules and systematic ways to make ethical decisions. Jim Barry has made his living as an ethics professor and negotiator. With his growing interest in training, Jim's interest in the ethics of the dog training industry have also grown. He has written a book, "The Ethical Dog Trainer," which is the text for this course. There are often more than one right decision to be made in difficult or uncomfortable situations - this course will help you understand how to make those decisions in the best way possible way for you.
