courses
Raising Canine offers animal professionals and thoughtful owners the opportunity to
attend
online courses and
telecourses covering a variety of subjects and animal species. These courses run the gamut from philosophical issues such as “is dominance theory a legitimate behavioral model or simply an idea that has permeated our
society,” to “how fear or aggression can actually change the
brain.” Some topics are appropriate for all species and some are specific to a particular species. Some topics are designed for those new to the animal world and some are quite advanced and require a prior level of knowledge to benefit from the course. There are a variety of speakers from those that are well known in their field such as
Jean Donaldson, Dr. Lore Haug and
Dr Susan Friedman, to relatively unknown speakers who are doing exciting work in the animal field and have great knowledge to share such as
Rachel
Friedman and Jim
Barry.
The
telecourses
are short, to the point and affordable! Most telecourses will qualify for accreditation or continuing education units from the Certification Council for Pet Dog Trainers and the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants. Many of the courses have been approved for continuing education units for Texas veterinary technicians through the Texas Veterinary Medical Association.
And, if you missed a course you would have loved to attend, you can access an audio version
here!
The
online courses
are more in-depth and are designed to help owners and trainers learn more
about animal behavior, consulting and business-related issues.
