Raising Canine is dedicated to providing quality, science-based education to companion animal professionals and owners; and, providing quality business services to animal professionals, so they are able to dedicate their time to enhancing the owner-animal relationship.
Information for Potential Speakers
Raising Canine is always looking for knowledgeable, qualified speakers. Per our mission statement, we strive to provide quality, science-based material to our audience. This goal does not preclude providing practical, or opinion-based, material; however, such material should be openly acknowledged as opinion-based, and encompass the basic principles of accepted research findings. Speakers are expected, and required, to honor and respect our mission statement and goals.
If you are interested in presenting for Raising Canine, please review the following points before contacting sue@raisingcanine.com.
1. Raising Canine and the Speaker will discuss potential topics and arrive at a mutually agreed upon topic. 2. If Raising Canine is not familiar with your work, you will be asked to submit sample articles. 3. Raising Canine retains the right to request content changes to a proposed presentation, as well as the right to reject a proposal that does not meet Raising Canine’s standards, mission statement, and/or goals. 4. Raising Canine is responsible for setting prices for the courses, and may run price specials using the Speaker’s course as part of that special. 5. For maximum enrollment, it’s best to have courses on the web site 2 or more months prior to presentation. 6. Speakers will be asked to provide course materials prior to the course being posted on the Raising Canine web site. 7. Speakers are required to provide a curriculum vitae and picture to be posted on Raising Canine’s web site prior to a course being posted on the Raising Canine website 8. Each course should be between 1 and 1.5 hours in length. If the Speaker would like to do a longer course, it can be held over consecutive weeks. 9. For every scheduled hour of course time, Raising Canine will give the Speaker access to five hours of telecourses presented by other speakers at no cost to the Speaker. 10. The course will be recorded and go onto Raising Canine’s website as an audio-taped course. Raising Canine retains the digital rights to the telecourse and to materials prepared or created for the telecourse. 11. For scheduling purposes, we like to have presentations scheduled 6 months to a year in advance. Raising Canine will work with you to arrive at a mutually beneficial schedule.
